Vision Statement.  Sharing with parents the responsibility of leading children to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and then guiding them to be disciples of Christ.

Philosophy.  At First Baptist Church, we understand that the elementary years are vital to forming foundations that last a lifetime. We create an atmosphere where kids feel loved, special, and welcomed while instilling the basics of God’s Word for each child to begin a lifetime love relationship with Jesus Christ.

Children’s Church for first- through third-graders meets every Sunday morning. The children eat a snack in the Fellowship Hall before moving to the Multi-Purpose Room in the Goodwin Life Center for a worship service designed specifically for them. This dynamic, age-appropriate worship service will instill a life-changing truth in your child’s life each week.

Sunday Evenings.  Worshiping with one’s family is important, so we reserve Sunday nights for your family to worship together with the entire church.

Wednesdays.  Our Wednesday After-School program, designed for first- through fifth-graders, is getting bigger every year. During the school year, your child is transported from school to the church, where he enjoys many activities, including supervised free playtime in the Goodwin Life Center. Supper is served at 5:00. After supper, your child can get creative with music and arts activities at 5:30. Afterwards, children gain a global perspective with missions activities for boys and girls at 6:30.

Special Activities.  Throughout the year, your child can be involved in many activities. We love to celebrate Easter, so we have a huge Eggstravaganza. Another favorite activity is the Fall Festival, where kids come dressed in costume and always enjoy games and candy. During the summer, your child can participate in camps like Tri-County Baptist Camp and Centri-Kid Camp. The highlight of each summer is Vacation Bible School and Music Camp, where children spend a week learning Biblical truths and songs that help them understand how to apply those truths to their lives.  Children love our Upward Sports Program, which assures every child that he is a winner. Through Upward Basketball and Upward Cheerleading, children develop a Christ-like attitude, character and self-esteem.
