It is that time of year again! UPWARD is just around the corner and it is time to register your K through Grade 5 child(ren) for basketball and cheerleading. Forms are available on the ministry wall at the church. The cost is $65.00 per child up through October 26th and $75.00 afterwards.

Moms, Dads, Grandparents...we need YOU to help us by volunteering as a basketball or cheer coach, a referee, or as a scorekeeper. Volunteer forms are on the ministry wall or you can email Jake at jacobrobinson7@gmail.com.

Last Saturday night the over 60 banquet was held in the FBC Fellowship Hall. Dr. Gerald Hallmark, Sr., father of pastor Clay Hallmark, and Rev. Buddy Barnett, father of Minister of Worship Lee Barnett, led this banquet. Supper was cooked and provided by several of our deacons and deacon's wives. Donny Lancaster and Phyllis Padgett won the door prizes.

The JOY Club is now planning a trip to ride the riverboat down in Tunica on October 21st. Contact James Lancaster for more information.

This past Saturday, October 4th at 9:30 am a new ladies Bible Study started. The study is once again by author Vicki Courtney called "Virtuous Woman: Shattering the superwoman myth." The study takes place at MOCHAS in West Memphis. Courtney Vickers serving again as the facilitator. This is a relaxed time of Bible study, fun, and building relationships among the women of FBC and their friends. There is STILL TIME FOR YOU TO JOIN! FIREPROOF, the new movie from the makers of FACING THE GIANTS, opened in only 850 theaters across United States, including in the Memphis area on September 26th. Considering all other first run movies were in over 2500 theaters, the success of FIREPROOF is unbelievable. Hollywood pundits are amazed at this success. This week at FBC, we've been privileged to host evacuees affected by Hurricane Gustav. We've decided to postpone the kickoff of our afterschool program and children's choirs for grades 1-5, our new 77 student worship, and Wednesday Bible studies for adults.

Join us this Wednesday evening for a special service of hope and encouragement. Dinner begins at 5:30 in the Fellowship Hall. The service begins at 6:30.

Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer at FBC. Join us this Sunday for Sunday School at 8:45 a.m. and worship at 10:00 a.m. Spend some time with family friends on Sunday evening: no evening activities at church this Sunday.

We are pleased to announce that we are in the process of creating a new FBC pictorial directory. WE NEED ALL FBC FAMILIES TO PARTICIPATE! The exact dates scheduled for taking pictures of the church family are as followed: August 7, 8, 9 and September 10, 11, 12, and 13.

How can you sign up? There are two ways: First, you can sign up at the church anytime during the week starting now. Second, you can sign up online by going to www.signup.olanmills.com. When you go to the site you can type in the church phone number (870-739-3944) and fill out the information, including assigning yourself a password. On that form you can schedule your appointment from home.

A new 6 week ladies Bible Study authored by Vicki Courtney titled, "Get a Life!" will begin on Saturday, July 26th at 9:30 am. With most vacations ending, baseball completed, and the summer craziness settling down, why not come and spend some relaxed quality time with other ladies from FBC for a time of encouraging Bible study, building relationships, and having some fun? The study will last from July 26th to September 6th (taking off for Labor Day weekend). The cost of the study is only $10.00 for all your materials. The Bible Study will take place at Mocha's in West Memphis. The Bible Study leader will be one of our new members, Courtney Vickers. This study is for ladies of all ages!
