To uncover the driving forces in your life, ask yourself the following questions...

1. What motivates me to take action? What issue makes me angry?
2. What is one thing that inspires me to get off the couch and do something? What is one thing that I would literally drop everything to do?
3. What activity do I really miss when I am not able to be involved in it?
4. What goals, visions, desires, plans, or dreams do I have--even if they are out of reach?
5. What do I really want to do for God? If I had unlimited time and resources, what would I do?

You are likely more passionate about people of a particular age or life-situation than other groups. To discover the people groups with which you connect, ask yourself the following questions.

1. I tend to feel energized around people of what age?
2. I often worry about issues facing people of which age or life-situation group?
3. What kind of people can I most profoundly influence for God?
4. How could I impact them in a way that maximizes my gifts?

From the lists below, choose a primary and a secondary people group. For example, if your primary people group is preschoolers, your secondary people might be younger elementary children, parents of preschoolers, or a completely unrelated group. Add any comments in the box at the bottom.

You are most likely compelled to meet certain types of needs more than others. Consider the following general types of needs.

• Spiritual Needs . . . helping people discover Christ and reach their full potential for him.
• Physical Needs . . . meeting practical needs by providing resources such as food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities.
• Relational Needs . . . helping other people develop authentic, healthy, Christ-centered relationships.
• Emotional Needs . . . helping people achieve emotional well-being or deal with a difficult situation.
• Educational Needs . . . helping people gain knowledge, abilities, or insight, through teaching or leading.
• Vocational Needs . . . assisting people to overcome barriers and reach vocational goals through training, coaching, and consulting.
