
2008 MISSIONS GOLF TOURNAMENT- Monday, June 2nd!
The 2008 yourWORLDmatters Missions Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 2nd at the Marion Golf and Athletic Club in Marion, AR. The tournament will begin with lunch at 12:00 pm and a shotgun start at 1:00 pm. The format for the tournament is a 4 person scramble. The cost is $60.00 per golfer or $200.00 per 4 person team. The tournament will feature a putting contest, closest to the pin and long drive contests, and a new vehicle for a hole-n-one on a selected par 3 hole. Door prizes, lots of food, and fellowship will make this a great day. Mr.
Disaster Relief Team Aids Tornado Victims
The West Memphis Evening Times reports the following news about FBC Marion Disaster Relief participants.
Volunteers from First Baptist Church in Marion have been serving meals to residents of Earle through the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Disaster Relief program.
Marion Baptist relief team members are preparing and serving food at the Earle High School cafeteria at noon and in the evening for any Earle resident needing a meal. Red Cross units are also delivering these meals to residents at their homes.
First Baptist Family FRIEND DAY!
On Sunday, May 18th, we will be having our first ever First Baptist Family FRIEND DAY! This will also be Sunday School high attendance day. On May 18th our special guest will be our friend, evangelist Dr. Jackie Kay.preaching in both morning services and in our evening service. We are asking that each of our members invite a lost or unchurched friend to attend with them in Sunday School and worship. What a great jump start this will be to our summer. Don't miss this amazing Worship Ministry event on Sunday evening, April 13 at 6 p.m. The Celebration Choir, Orchestra, and Drama Team will lead in worship experience based on the music and themes from You Changed My Name, our recent Sunday morning worship emphasis and sermon series.
Spring Break Missions at New Hope
The Student Ministry of FBC sponsored a week of mission projects at New Hope Baptist Church, an FBC-sponsored congregation in Lakeshore Estates, during March 22-26. Events included an Easter egg hunt, soccer camp, Vacation Bible School, movie night, a trip to Incredible Pizza for teens, and a neighborhood block party.
Easter 2008 at FBC
FBC celebrated Easter with two worship services on Sunday, March 28. Worship emphasized the theme "Alive!" including the songs "Alive Forever Amen," "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today," "Jesus Saves," and "He Is Lord." Worshipers were challenged by the sermon, "Your Life: Alive!" from Dr. Clay Hallmark, senior pastor at FBC.
